Activities
A range of activities are available in the Unit which you can attend if you wish. Details of these activities are posted throughout the unit (in each room and in the day rooms also.)
However, the activity can also involve spending time with those who do not wish to participate in group activities. We also attend local events of interest in the local community, and at least weekly bus trips are also an invaluable activity.
The Activities programme is published seasonally and every effort is made to provide a varied and stimulating programme. Relatives or friends of residents are encouraged to participate in activities and indeed to help organise them.

Residents Committee
We strongly encourage residents/relatives/friends to join the Resident’s Committee within the Unit. This committee plays an active and important role in the running of St. Brendan’s Unit. Issues discussed by this committee are those that are relevant to the residents and which may improve the running of the unit for the benefit of the residents. The resident's meeting is also a time where people may discuss the news of the day, politics , sport, or indeed play a game of cards .Specific issues relating to individual residents should be discussed on a day-to-day basis with the care staff or Patricia Maguire, the Person in Charge, or Dr. Jerry Cowley the Registered Provider nominee.
If you are interested in attending or becoming a member of the committee please contact Patricia Maguire.
